The Madison Metropolitan School District Planetarium
The MMSD Planetarium serves more than 23,000 annually from the Madison and south-central Wisconsin area. The planetarium delivers fulldome, video based projections for many different experiences.
The MMSD Planetarium is located on the west side of Madison, Wisconsin at Vel Phillips Memorial High School.The planetarium has upgraded from its original Spitz AP3 projector to the latest technology with the Digistar 7 projection system.Current upgrades replace the planetarium’s two incandescent projectors with state of the art tech as well as the audio system to a tuned native 5.1 surround sound system. Combined, this unique environment allows for an amazing, 360-degree immersive experience.
